Why Cup Movement® in the Highlands encourages use of reusable cups for takeaway drinks

As part of Cup Movement® in the Highlands, environmental charity Keep Scotland Beautiful are piloting a large-scale reusable cup scheme for the first time in Scotland. The scheme beginning in late March, will enable customers to both bring their own reusable cup and borrow and return a reusable cup for takeaway drinks from participating businesses. There will be multiple collection and drop off points in areas around the NC500 route.

Of people surveyed in the Highlands, 82% are concerned about the amount of single-use takeaway cups used [1] and 81% agree that takeaway venues need to do more to make it easier for you to choose a reusable cup for your takeaway drink.[2]

This new Cup Movement ® campaign aim is to make it easier for businesses and customers to choose to use a reusable cup when purchasing takeaway drinks in NC500 area of the Highlands.  Keep Scotland Beautiful is working with local businesses as they prepare to introduce the reusable cup scheme later next month.
