Food Hygiene Hero

Are you a community organisation who is managing a project which focuses around food waste? A barrier to food waste projects including community fridges and larders for many groups is the need for volunteers and staff to have completed food hygiene certification level two training. But fear not, we have you covered!

The Highlands & Islands Climate Hub is delighted to offer community groups the opportunity to train staff and volunteers in a Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene for Catering Course.

We can offer fully funded training opportunities and work with groups to offer the training online or within a community venue. Groups, please get in touch to discuss your specific needs.

We’re so pleased to be able to offer this additional support to groups and projects specifically tackling food waste.

Groups should be aware that while this opportunity is classed as a funding benefit, no cash will be issued direct to groups. Individual staff/volunteers will sign up, we’ll do some admin with the group each individual represents to learn about the specific food waste project and the communities which it benefits. Once confirmed that the individual is eligible, we’ll take care of the training expenses meaning no financial cost to groups or individuals.

Groups should direct their staff and/or volunteers to contact us using the form below to register interest in the fully funded training course.
