Sheila Wickens

Community Development Officer, Inverness & Inner Moray Firth

Sheila is our Community Development Officer for Inverness and Inner Moray Firth area, covering Inverness, the Black Isle, Ross-shire, and surrounding areas. Sheila grew up on the Black Isle and now lives in Muir of Ord with her husband and son. She has worked and volunteered for many years in community climate action projects across a variety of areas including active travel, growing food and reducing waste. Her last role was with Velocity Café and Cycle Workshop in Inverness as ‘Cycle to Health’ Project Officer, teaching adults to cycle or to gain confidence and skills in riding a bike in traffic.

Sheila really does love riding her bike! She usually cycles to work, and rides her bike as a preferred means of transport for everyday journeys. She also is a bit of a water baby, and loves to get in the water, so you will find her swimming – both inside and outside.  She enjoys running and hill walking as well as just everyday walks around her local woodland.  It’s not uncommon for her to come home with a selection of foraged goodies from her outdoors adventures.
