Youth Climate Advocates

Read below a press release circulated by our colleagues at Keep Scotland Beautiful.

Do you work with young people aged 11-24 in the Highlands? The Highland Community Waste Partnership is offering FREE Climate Emergency Training, accredited by the Carbon Literacy Project, from Nov 2022.

The Highland Community Waste Partnership is led by eight Highland-based community groups and coordinated by Keep Scotland Beautiful. Together they are working to reduce waste in our communities across the Highlands by changing the way that we all consume; that is, buy, use, and dispose of things.

Youth Climate Advocates will have the opportunity to learn about climate change, gain a certification, engage in local climate action and volunteer with community groups.

As well as a great way to connect with like-minded young people across the Highlands, this is a great addition to CVs and applications, and can contribute towards other schemes e.g. High Life Highland Green Leadership SCQF, Duke of Edinburgh or Saltire awards.
