Highlands and Islands Community Climate Action Fund

As the climate festivals come to an end this year, at the Hub we have reopened our seed funding again for applications.

Our seed funding is a core part of what we do. We offer up to £500 per project/community engagement exercise to groups and organisations in the Highlands & Northern Isles. This funding can either be used for the beginning of a community led climate action project, or to do a little bits of community engagement around climate action themes such as food waste, active travel, sustainable energy, or anything other climate action themes that are suited to your community.

As well as the up to £500 we offer, we also provide in kind hours of support from our development officers. Whether that can someone to bounce your ideas off, assistance to secure sustainable funding for your project, a helping hand for community engagement, someone to help set up on the day or even just someone to borrow a polaroid camera from. Our development officers will be here for anything you need, no matter what the question is or what you might need from us.

We have streamlined our funding process to make it as easy as possible, with our funding criteria and short application form on our website. We’re also here to help assist you in the application process if you need a little help. Our funding will close on the 31st March 2023, so there’s plenty of time to come up with ideas, we’d be more than happy to hear them!

Apply now using this link!

Our funding decisions are made on a rolling monthly basis as we receive it. If we have a large demand in funding one month, we may roll your application into the next month. However, we will always keep you updated to the status of your application.

We will also consider larger funding awards of up to £1000 if your organisation is working in partnership with another organisation to deliver either community engagement or a climate action project that will have significant impact on your community. If you would like to apply for up to £1000 please get in contact with us on enquiries@nhclimatehub.co.uk so we can discuss before applying.

We love to hear your ideas for projects, so if you are thinking of applying, please get in touch with us. Happy funding season!
